Hello!
I am Lisa Yost independent designer for Chalk Couture. I have over 20 years experience in the crafting industry but have been a mixed media artist my entire life.
My Crafting career started when I was Lisa Bluhm, I started first as a rubber stamper…remember DOTS?? I grew a team and was a presenter at the national convention teaching how to stamp on wood. From there I got involved with the scrapbook phase and taught classes at my local store, designed page layouts for companies, was published multiple times in scrapbook and craft magazines for my projects.
I then got into soldered art and started my own company Simply Swank. I sold my products retail and wholesale globally. I was featured on HGTV and I have 2 nationally published books on Soldered art. I have hosted booths at local and national shows like CHA retail and wholesale.
I stepped out of the crafting world in and entered the beauty world and became a counter manager for Bare Minerals and then worked my way up to be a sales and training coordinator for IT cosmetics.
After my husband of 30 years passed away I semi retired & took time off for some self care. During that time I was blessed to have a wonderful man come back into my life, he was my kindergarten sweetheart and recently he became my husband.
I found Chalk Couture online and fell in love with it. I signed up without even trying it. What immediately sold me was that you can wash off designs and make a new one on the same surface. I get tired of my decor and want to change it but who has room to store all the old ones. I also loved that I can customize it to my colors, how many times do you find a decor piece and it would be perfect except for the size, the color the design?
I’m not gonna lie, I signed up just for the kit and the discount but…once I tried it and got my hands on the quality products I knew others would want it too. One thing I loved in the craft industry was workshops and shows. I loved seeing people create their own masterpieces and be so proud of it. So I decided I am all in on this chalking adventure and I am running it as a business. I am teaching workshops, hosting booths at vendor events and building a team.
